Free plan generator
Build a journal habit that survives real life.
Choose when, how long, and why you want to write. Get seven specific days and a plan for the day you miss.
Why the plan starts small
The generator deliberately reduces the first two sessions and includes an easier fourth day. A plan should define the minimum that keeps the relationship alive, not the maximum you can produce while motivation is high.
The write-before-scroll cue
If reducing scrolling is your goal, connect writing to the moment that already happens reliably: reaching for a distracting app. Journal Lock can make that cue concrete by shielding the apps you choose until you complete your writing minimum.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a beginner journal each day?
This generator starts beginners with two to five minutes and a five-word minimum. The purpose is to make starting easy enough to repeat, not to maximize the length of each entry.
What happens if I miss a day?
Continue with the next day instead of catching up or restarting. Use a five-word minimum on the return day. A recovery rule prevents one missed session from becoming a reason to abandon the plan.
Does Journal Lock save my plan?
The generator works in your browser. Copy, print, or bookmark the URL to keep the plan. Journal Lock does not receive your written responses through this tool.
